ORDER OF INSTALLATION OF THE SPARE PARTS IN THE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE FILTER

IMPORTANT: Insert the inlet (3) and outlet (9) ratchets into the base or bases and wrap teflon tape (not included) on their threads to prevent water leaks.
1. INSTALLATION: (The customer is responsible for the correct and safe installation of the filter)
The filter should be placed upright under the sink, close to the water supply and the tap is placed in the desired position on the sink. The 2 meter tube included in the package, cut it into 2 pieces whose size allows you to pull the appliance out of the cabinet when changing the filter. (If the tube is cut at an angle you will have a leak)
2. ATTENTION
Make sure that the water inlet to the filter follows the direction of the arrow, at the bottom of the metal base (1) of the device (see figure 1). Αif connected otherwise the ceramic nozzle will clog or break.
PLACING THE MOSS OVER THE SINK
- Use a suitable drill to drill an 11mm (mm) diameter hole in the sink in the desired position for the tap (21) (first drill with a 6 mm drill bit).
- Before placing the tap on the sink, first insert the nickel metal base (20) into the pipe after removing the nylon protective coating and under it insert the larger black elastic sealing washer (19).
- Place the tap in the hole you drilled in the sink and in the tap piece located at the bottom of the sink , insert the accessories (18), (17), (16) in the order shown in the drawing and screw the metal nut (15) all the way down tightly to seal and support the tap on the countertop.
- Pass the metal fuse (10) through one end of the tube (11). Attach the tube (11) to the outlet rack (9) and screw the metal safety catch (10) firmly.
- At the other end of the tube (11), first insert the metal rack (12), then the oval plastic cylinder (14), and then insert the plastic wedge (13) into the plastic tube to fix the cylinder (14) in place. Screw the metal rack (12) securely into the thread on the tail of the tap.
- Screw the bulb (22) to the filter base (1) (loose), without tightening it too much and break the Plastic of the thread or ceramic filter, or reduced water flow.
- Screw the metal lid of the device (2) firmly onto its base. Now turn on the tap and from the filter tap, the first time, you may get some black water from the rinsing of the activated carbon.
3. ATTENTION: The first time and every time you change the flask, let the water run for 10 minutes. Do not use the filter for 24 hours. After 24 hours, let it run for 2-3 minutes and the filter is ready for use. Also, if the filter is left unused for more than 3 days, let the water run for 2-3 minutes.
4. ATTENTION: Only cold water should be passed through the filter. If you pass hot water, the bonding and sealing materials of the cartridge will come loose, so that sediments, sludge, rust, as well as chemical elements of the water, such as chlorine etc. will not be retained by the filter.
5. REPLACEMENT OF THE FILTER (CARTRIDGE)
When changing or cleaning the ceramic flask, it is advisable to make sure that any kind of cut or wound on your hands is covered to avoid contact with any germs that have been held on the outside of the ceramic filter and the antimicrobial copper base has not yet had time to kill, as it takes about 2 hours to kill them. Otherwise, to change the cartridge, follow the same procedure as when you first installed the filter.
To unscrew the metal cap (2), first turn off the water supply to the filter and at the same time open the filter tap (21) on the sink to release the pressure and unscrew the metal cap (2) more easily.
Cut off the water supply to the filter when desired:
Α) The total shut-off of water to the filter.
Β) Cleaning the cartridge.
Γ) The replacement of the cartridge.
Δ) When you are absent from home for days.
6. MAINTENANCE - CLEANING OF THE CERAMIC CARTRIDGE
Every 3-4 months or at any time the water flow is significantly reduced from the tap of the device (which means that the ceramic filter cartridge is «clogged» with sediments, rust, mud, slime, salts, etc.), remove it from the device and with cold water under the tap. (without detergents), scrub it well over the entire surface with the wire part of the dish sponge, or with a stiffer wire material or even with an emery cloth (size 80), to clean and improve the water flow. After rinsing it thoroughly, place it back in place.
7. RECOMMENDED FLOW OF THE FILTER - TIME TO CHANGE SPARE PARTS
IMPORTANT: The highest efficiency of the filter is achieved when the water flow from the filter does not exceed 1.5 to 2 litres per minute. The capacity of the cartridge is for 8,000 litres of water or for 10-12 months, whichever comes first. The duration of the bladder can be shortened, in cases of polluted networks with silt, slag, slime, soil, salts, etc., or in periods of water scarcity, when the pollution of water supply networks is very intense (due to low water levels). In these cases, the filter must be cleaned much more frequently and replaced earlier if, despite cleaning, the water flow does not return to the tap of the appliance.
However, regardless of the number of liters of water that will pass through the filter, in 10-12 months at the latest, you must ALWAYS change the filter, because once it gets wet, its materials weaken month by month and the water that passes through the filter will pass unfiltered.
8. MAINTENANCE OF ANTIMICROBIAL TABLET AND BASE
On the surfaces of the antimicrobial copper alloy materials, and in particular on the inside of the base (4) and on the disc (6) inside it, there may be a surface colour change due to normal oxidation of the antimicrobial copper, deposits of various materials from the water supply networks, such as rust, sludge, etc. In these cases, these deposits, which do not in any way affect the general functioning of the filter, are good, both for aesthetic reasons and for reasons of cleanliness of the filter chamber, be removed as follows:
α) Thoroughly clean both surfaces of the antimicrobial tray with something harder like a pot wire, wild emery cloth, etc. β) Clean the inside of the antimicrobial base in the same way to remove all kinds of rust-like deposits.
9. PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING THE METALLIC DEVICE
Wipe the device with a soft piece of cloth slightly dampened with lukewarm water. Avoid using bleach or any chemical detergent or bleaching agent or cloths with a wire, as they will leave marks on the metal surface of the appliance.
10. IMPORTANT! To protect your filter, after any water supply interruption, be sure to turn on your tap for a few hours before using the filter.
11. ATTENTION: The OLYMPUS+ water filter is intended for water that is controlled by the Municipal or Community authorities and is suitable for human consumption.
12. ATTENTION TO THE PRESSURE OF THE WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM
If the mains pressure is high, place a pressure reducer before the water filter. However, regardless of whether the mains pressure is high or low, be sure to install a pressure relief valve (available in the plumbing), so that in case of a sudden increase in mains pressure or an instantaneous hydraulic shock, the pipes or the filter device will not break and flood. When you are away from home for days at a time, the water supply switch to the filter must be turned off in any case.
