Instructions for Renewal of Resin in Salt and Nitrate Algae

The salt-retention bottle (blue base cap for the small Olympus and yellow base cap for the Gigas) and the nitrate-retention bottle (red base cap for the small Olympus and white base cap for the Gigas) require regeneration of the resin as follows:

NORMAL OLYMPUS FILTER (small):
Resin regeneration per 350-400 litres of water approximately.

OLYMPUS GIGA FILM (GIAS):
Resin regeneration per 500 litres of water approximately.

In order to regenerate the resin of each cartridge so that it can again retain salts or nitrates, the following procedure should be followed:

1) Unscrew the nozzle from the device
2) Fill a 1-2 litre container with water and add 3 heaping tablespoons of table salt, which you stir well to dissolve before putting the flask in.
3) Dip the resin gasket into the water, making sure it is 100% covered by the salt water.
4) After about 30 - 45 minutes, remove the germ from the brine and after rinsing it externally with tap water, place it back in the device.
5) Turn on the tap for about 1 minute to rinse the inside of the flask from the brine and that's it.

RESIN CARTRIDGE CHANGE

The duration of the resin cartridge is 10-12 months (like the activated carbon ceramic cartridge), so it is essential to change it.
